Desk Booking Kiosks

For those organisations operating a bookable desk policy there is a separate module available within Meeting Monitor for kiosk desk booking. This allows interactive desk icons to be added to the standard Room Booking Kiosk floor plans to allow instant desk booking, check-in, check-out and extend using the standard user authentication options such as PIN code etc.

The floor plans provide the ability to view the status of all bookable desks and actions such as book now or later that day (by the hour, AM, PM or all-day), check-in, check-out and extend booking are all available.

Remote bookings made for example in Outlook are of course reflected on the screens and can be updated via the kiosks. User's initials can be displayed on the icons for both desktop bookings and also for authenticated kiosk screen bookings.

In a similar way to the way the room booking floor plan kiosks are configured the kiosks can be multi-site, multi-building and multi-zone to suit any size of organisation.

Multi-zone, multi-floor or multi-building requirements are catered for with optional navigation buttons on the screens and floor plans simple require a suitable sized gif or jpeg image.

Using the floor plan builder wizard set-up is very straightforward and changes to layouts, adding additional desks or rooms, disabling access to out of use resources, adding extra zones are all very easy.

The floor plan graphic can of course display other information such as health and safety information, emergency escape routes and fire extinguisher location.

Hardware requirement is simply a Windows PC running XP or Windows 7 or for interactive use a touch screen PC such as the All-In-One units from Dell, ACER or HP. The screens can be any size from say 20" upwards and we recommend using a minimum resolution of 1280 x 1024 to ensure the screen information is clear. Alternatively a dedicated PC kiosk such as the unit shown opposite can be used and QED can supply these if required.

 

Floor plans can of course accommodate a mixed resource type layout to provide a really comprehensive multi-resource, multi-zone resource kiosk for rooms, desks and car spaces.

As the system is web screen based another option is to link the floor plan screens into an existing corporate Intranet or Portal to make finding a desk quick and easy.
